The Discipline of Tourism Studies, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) organized their Annual Alumni Meet, Jharokha 2017 on January 26. Following the University’s 47th Alumni Family Day Meet, Jharokha commenced at 02:30 PM in the Mini Auditorium, Block 1 of the University Central Campus.
Organized every year on the theme, ‘Let us Revisit, Reunite, Relive’, Jharokha 2017 was attended by close to 85 Alumni Members from the Master of Tourism Administration (MTA), MBA (Tourism and Travel Administration), BCom (Tourism and Travel Management) and BBA (Tourism and Travel Management) Batches since 2001.
The Function was graced by the presence of Fr Varghese K J, Chief Finance Officer, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Mr Jugnu Uberoi, President, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) Alumni Association, Dr Tomy K Kallarakal, Associate Dean – Commerce and Former Head of the Department – Tourism Studies, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Dr Jyothi Kumar, Associate Dean, School of Business Studies and Social Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) – Bannerghatta Road Campus, the present home of the MBA and BBA (Tourism and Travel Management) programmes, Dr Joby Thomas, Academic Coordinator and all the Faculty Members associated with the Discipline of Tourism Studies.
The Annual Alumni Report for January 2016 - 2017 was presented by Ms Mary Maclene, Final Year Student of MBA (Tourism and Travel Mangement). During the Meet, the 10 Member Core Committee of the Tourism Studies Alumni Association was reconstituted with Mr Dennison (MTA Batch of 2010) as the President, Mr Abraham (MTA Batch of 2001) as the Vice President and Ms Neenu (MTA Batch of 2008) as the Secretary. Other members in the Core Committee included Mr Abhijith (MTA Batch of 2002), Mr Vivek (MTA Batch of 2007), Mr Melbin (MTA Batch of 2013), Ms Sneha and Mr Vishakh (MBAT Batch of 2015), Mr Jeeth (MBAT Batch of 2016) and Ms Stella (BBAT Batch of 2016).
Games and dance performances were also organized by the present Batches of MBA and BBA (Tourism and Travel Management) Students to add fun, energy and color to the event.
