Department of Social Work, Christ University is organizing ‘Field work Practitioner’s Meet’ on 17^th August 2012 from 2.30 to 5.30 pm. This particular meet happens every year to strengthen the associations with the Institutions that support in field work training of social work trainees and discuss areas of concern with regard to the training of the professionals.

The aim of this meet is to get all the field work supervisors (Faculty and Agency) and students in one platform where there could be mutually agreed goals in relation to the Continuous field work practice. The field work practitioners who engage in training social work professionals in agencies (Hospitals, Industries and NGOs), where the social work students are placed in the month of September 2012 for a month will be attending this meet.

Specific Objectives

1. To sort out matters with regard to the challenges faced in field work training

2. To discuss the protocols to be followed in field work training

3. To discuss about newer opportunities for the students and Organisations.

4. To discuss possibilities of furthering the association between institutions in terms of collaborative efforts and action in terms of social development and academic /technical support exchanges in professional social work.

5. To clarify the role of supervisors (Faculty and Agency) in field work training.

6. To inform about the academic opportunities Christ University could offer to the Field work supervisors.
